Release of the Bhagavad Gita in Malayalam

April 14 th 2007 marked the completion of one year of the continuous telecast of the Sampoorna Gita Jnana Yajnam by Swami Sandeepananda Giri on DD4. The anniversary celebrations conducted at Alakapuri Auditorium, Trivandrum, was inaugurated by Sri. C.P.Nair I.A.S, former Chief Secretary to the Govt of Kerala.

While celebrating the historic success and fulfillment of that venture, the School of Bhagavad Gita created history of another kind- the launch of Tamaso Ma Jyothir Gamaya- the project of presenting the Gita in Braille for the visually impaired- to kindle the light within. The first step in this project is the release of the Gita in Malayalam Braille, a first time event in the history of Malayalam. The release of the Bhagavad Gita in Malayalam Braille was done by Padmasri Sugatha Kumari, who distributed copies to several visually impaired students.

The ‘padukams’ of Swami Chinmayananda, that had been given by Poojya Gurudev to his senior disciple, Smt. Sreedevi Nair, was donated by her to Salagramam for the benefit of future generations.

Part 1 of the Sampoorna Gita Jnana Yajnam by Swami Sandeepananda Giri, containing chapters 1 to 6 of the Bhagavad Gita, being brought out in DVD format was released by Sri T. Chamiyar, Executive Producer, Door Darshan. The first copy was received by Sri Sunil Ganga of Kuwait.

The website of the School of Bhagavad Gita was officially launched by Sri.Nedumudi Venu. He also felicitated Swamiji on behalf of the viewers of Sampoorna Gita Jnana Yajnam on DD4. Swami Sandeepananda Giri delivered the speech of benediction.
