Release of the Bhagavad Gita in Malayalam
April 14 th 2007 marked the completion of
one year of the continuous telecast of the
Sampoorna Gita Jnana Yajnam by Swami Sandeepananda Giri on DD4. The anniversary celebrations
conducted at Alakapuri Auditorium, Trivandrum,
was inaugurated by Sri. C.P.Nair I.A.S,
former Chief Secretary to the Govt of Kerala.
While celebrating the historic success and
fulfillment of that venture, the School
of Bhagavad Gita created history of another
kind- the launch of Tamaso Ma Jyothir Gamaya-
the project of presenting the Gita in Braille
for the visually impaired- to kindle the
light within. The first step in this project
is the release of the Gita in Malayalam
Braille, a first time event in the history
of Malayalam. The release of the Bhagavad
Gita in Malayalam Braille was done by Padmasri
Sugatha Kumari, who distributed copies to
several visually impaired students.
The ‘padukams’ of Swami Chinmayananda, that
had been given by Poojya Gurudev to his
senior disciple, Smt. Sreedevi Nair, was
donated by her to Salagramam for the benefit
of future generations.
Part 1 of the Sampoorna Gita Jnana Yajnam
by Swami Sandeepananda Giri, containing chapters
1 to 6 of the Bhagavad Gita, being brought
out in DVD format was released by Sri T.
Chamiyar, Executive Producer, Door Darshan.
The first copy was received by Sri Sunil
Ganga of Kuwait.
The website of the School of Bhagavad Gita
was officially launched by Sri.Nedumudi
Venu. He also felicitated Swamiji on behalf
of the viewers of Sampoorna Gita Jnana Yajnam
on DD4. Swami Sandeepananda Giri delivered
the speech of benediction.
