School of Bhagavad Gita has opened its Canada center on 12 March 2008. The center was inaugurated by Mayor George Ferguson, Hon. Mayor, City of Abbotsford, BC in the function presided over by Councillor Moe Gill.

The function was followed by a discourse by Swami Sandeepananda Giri.The function was held at Abbotsford Banquet and Conference Center and was well attended by a cross-section of society, who welcomed the starting of the new center.
