A Yatra to
Kailas - Manasarovar is the sublimation of
all spiritual journeys. This spiritual journey
- the first Kailas Yatra of the School of
Bhagavad Gita, organized by Swami Sandeepananda Giri, from 20 July to 6 August 2007,
literally elevated one to higher realms
of experience. For the 101- strong group
of yatris, a sense of total surrender backed
by will power, the strength of the Upanishad
mantras chanted under the guidance of Swamiji
at the start of each day’s journey, and
above all the divine grace of the Almighty,
saw to it that this special pilgrimage was
completed successfully.

En route, the scenes of Nature in myriad
moods and forms turned out to be a glorious
experience of witnessing the ‘vibhooti’
of the Lord. The ethereal sights of Mount
Kailas, the serene Manasarovar, Gauri Kund,
the Rakshasa Tal, uninhabited by any living
forms, a dip in the holy waters of the Manasarovar
and the experience to do the parikrama was
surely a life time experience for the pilgrims,
who ranged from age 23 to 72 years. While
many returned with a deep sense of peace
and contentment, others vowed to come back
next year to take this pilgrimage which
is a tonic for the body and soul. View pictures
