Swami Sandeepananda Giri was awarded the Paithrika Ratnam award by the Indian Institute for Scientific Heritage at their annual conference, SAASHTRA held on the 24^th December 2006 at Guruvayur. It was awarded to him “ for creating a new dimension for the understanding of Indian spiritual heritage, through lectures and publications”.

Gita Yagnam by Swamiji was held at Kollam during the last fortnight of December 2006.
