The Art of Man Making, the 45 days discourse series on Bhagavad Gita, in Malayalam held at the Indian Consulate Hall, Dubai and conducted by Swami Sandeepananda Giri, Director of School of Bhagavad Gita, has drawn its curtains on 25th December 2007. The closing ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries. Colonel Abdulla Khadim Surror Al Meseam, Director of Al Rafa Police Station, Dubai presided as the honourable chief guest. Other distinguished guests were Mr. P. Rajendra Prasad, managing director of A & P group of companies, Dr. M. R. R. Menon, chief consultant of J. J Hospital and Senior consultant Psychiarist at Cosmopolitan Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram and Ms. Jaya Sarkar, senior journalist.

More than a mere explanation of a religious text, this discourse series, as the title suggests laid emphasis on the non sectarian values and universal relevance of the Bhagavad Gita as a guide and science to the making of a complete human being by understanding one’s self, his attributes towards the life and eventually to develop the qualities of a good citizen.

The programme which started on the 10th November 2007, was inaugurated by Shri. M. A. Yusuf Ali, MD of Emke Group and Board member of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce. It was presided over by Shri. M. P. Veerandra Kumar, MD of Mathrubhoomi and Member of Parliament. Other distinguished guests and speakers included Padmashree P. Parameshwaran, Mr. Joy Alukkas and other dignitaries.

This is first time in UAE that such a discourse series conducted for 45 days continuously and covering the entire Gita has ever taken place. The positive response of over 500 people attending regularly and filling the hall beyond capacity was an overwhelming experience.
