Vyasa Peetham Puraskaram was awarded by the School of Bhagavad Gita to Prof. G. Balakrishnan Nair, the reputed scholar and spiritual teacher par excellence. With his innumerabale writings and discourses, the most unassuming Prof Balakrishnan Nair has dedicated his life time to elucidating the message of our scriptures and abiding by the Absolute Truth. In reverence and prostration before this selfless service, The School of Bhagavad Gita has conferred this award at the Guru Puja organized in connection with the 85th birthday of Prof Balakrishnan Nair. The function was held at Vyloppilli Samskriti Bhavan on 5th February 2007.Hon.minister for culture, Sri. M. A. Baby was the chief guest. The award consists of a citation and a cash award of Rs One lakh.
