Ashtavakra Gita
Format: Audio CD

The Ashtavakra Gita, also known as the Ashtavakra Samhita, is an ancient Sanskrit text that portrays the philosophy of Advaitha (non- duality). It is presented as a dialogue between the enlightened 12-year old Ashtavakra and King Janaka of Mithila, who recognizes the boy's wisdom as far greater than that of many old sages and scholars.

Ashtavakra means one who is deformed in eight places. The boy Ashtavakra, who goes to the court of King Janaka for a debate between scholars, is made fun of for his deformity. In answer, he tells the court "I did not know that the so called learned gathering is no better than a bunch of cobblers who judge a person by the skin and not by the knowledge he has."
