STAYING AT SALAGRAMAM ASHRAM

Salagramam Ashram, located within the limits of Trivandrum city, is beautifully laid out along the banks of the Karamana River. Although close to the city, the atmosphere is green and rustic. The eco-friendly and ethnic architecture of the ashram building adds to the serenity of the place.

Salagramam Ashram is an ideal place to take a retreat, to do yoga or meditation, for spiritual practice (Sadhana) or study. Nalanda - Takshasila, the library complex in two levels, has an excellent collection of books to satisfy any seeker of knowledge. Saptha Bhumika, the labyrinth, provides the path for a 'walking meditation' - a whole, new elevating experience.

Accommodation facilities are available at the ashram in the form of guest rooms and dormitories. Guests and devotees can avail themselves of these facilities to stay for short periods. Guests, devotees and visitors are requested to inform the Ashram with details of the intended visit / stay and obtain written permission to help make smooth arrangements for their arrival and stay.

Meals
Food served is simple and vegetarian, using locally grown and organic vegetables. Breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as evening tea are served at the dining hall at set timings. Meal timings will be announced with the sounding of the dining hall bell. Non-vegetarian food, smoking or drinking are not permitted in the Ashram.

Other facilities
Special yoga sessions, Ayurvedic treatment, classes in Gita chanting, bhajan singing and transport facilities to visit other places of interest are also arranged on request.

The Ashram is a charitable organization and the guests, visitors and devotees are not charged for accommodation and food. However, donations to help us carry out the projects and activities of this Public Charitable Trust will be accepted gratefully. The Ashram considers this as your support and participation.

Getting here
Trivandrum is well connected by road and railway. By Air, it is connected to all major domestic and international destinations.

The Ashram is located about 10 km from the railway station and the city center. Bus and auto rickshaw services are available within walking distance of the ashram.

Visitors coming by road may ask for directions to the Devi Temple near the Kundamankadavu Bridge. The road adjacent to the temple takes one to the ashram in a few minutes.
