*Haridwar - Rishikesh :* The gateway to the Himalayas, this sacred place is blessed with numerous holy Ashrams and other places of spiritual significance. The Chandi Devi and Manasa Devi temples, Ram and Laxman Jhoola, Ganga Arati and a dip in the holy Ganga are experiences to cherish.
*Uttarkashi* is home to a number of ashrams, temples. The name of the town reflects its
similarity to and location (as north of) the city of Kashi (Varanasi).Similar to Varanasi,
town of Uttarkashi is also situated on the banks of River Ganga. Located here, is the Vishwanath temple counted as one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Uttarkashi is also known as Saumya Kashi.
*Harsil* is famous for its natural beauty, extensive apple orchards and for the majestic views of the Deodar trees and mountains.
*Gangotri* :One of the Char Dhams, Gangotri, denoting the origin of the Ganga, is a small town with the temple of Goddess Ganga. It is situated on the right bank of Bhagirathi, as the river is called here.
*Gaumukh* : The Gomukh glacier is the source of Bhagirathi (Ganga). The sages called it 'Gaumukh', because in the distant past, it probably resembled a cow's mouth. The Gaumukh Trek is through Chirbasa and Bhojbasa before reaching the glacier.
*Dharali* : Dharali is a beautiful little town, lined by the fast flowing Bhagirathi. When the main temple of Gangotri Dham shuts during the winter months, the idol of Goddess Ganga is brought down here to the Mukhba temple.
*Badrinath* : One of the Char Dhams, it is one of the most celebrated pilgrimage centers. It is guarded on either side by the two mountain ranges known as Nar & Narayan with the towering Neelkanth Peak providing a splendid backdrop. The Badrinath temple has Nambuthiri priests from Kerala as Rawal as per tradition laid down by Sankaracharya. Situated on the banks of the Alakananda, Shraddham for deceased ancestors are performed at Brahma kapal.
Mana Village, located close to Badrinath, inhabited by an Indo-Mongolian tribe, it is the last Indian village before Tibet.
*Joshimath* : Originally known as Jyotirmath, it is the winter seat of Lord Badrinath and is highly revered due to the fact that Adi Shankaracharya established one of the four 'Mutts' here in the 8th century.
*Auli* : Famed as a ski resort, Auli offers stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks, like Nanda Devi, Kamet, Dunagiri and Mana Parvat. Another famous attraction here is the ropeway-the highest and the longest one in the whole of Asia.
